James and John Chivas, accomplished entrepreneurs, left the family farm and settled in Aberdeen to take over a delicatessen founded in 1801, whose cellars were filled with whiskies aging slowly.

Around 1830, with the emergence of grain whiskies, the Chivas brothers, like a few other pioneers, had the idea to blend malt and grain whiskies, thus creating a whisky with a perfectly balanced taste.

In 1843, the Chivas brothers were awarded the title of Official Supplier to Her Majesty Queen Victoria. A few years later, Chivas Brothers achieved tremendous success by exporting Chivas Regal 25 years old internationally, notably to New York.

Since then, it has been up to Master Blender Colin Scott to perpetuate the art of blending, ensuring that the aromatic balance of Chivas Regal endures over time.
