Description
Tasting Notes
Colour:
Mahogany
Nose:
Rich and fleshy. Raisins, apricot jam, quince jelly and rose petals lead, reflecting the noble influence of port casks. The profile evolves toward malt, pepper and precious woods (sandalwood, oak), with subtle empyreumatic notes of brandied cherries
Palate:
Supple and lively. A bright citrus opening (lemon) gives way to latte coffee, praline and walnuts, before unfolding into dark fruits (cherry, blueberry) and tropical notes (mango, persimmon). Tertiary nuances of porcini mushroom and lichen add depth
Finish:
Balanced and creamy. Zan liquorice, fresh ginger, cumin and salted butter caramel define a long, generous finish. With time, waves of malted barley emerge, followed by balsamic freshness, tea-like infusions, milk notes and gentle cardamom spice
