This Edradour 12 Year Old 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cask is a bold yet refined Highland single malt that explores the deeper, darker side of wine cask maturation. Distilled in 2012, aged for 12 years in Cabernet Sauvignon casks and bottled at 48.2% ABV, it delivers a velvety texture and a richly layered profile. Notes of blackcurrant and plum are framed by gentle oak tannins and a hint of charred wood, allowing the expressive wine influence to enhance—rather than dominate—the naturally weighty Edradour spirit. Part of a four-bottling series, it stands as a compelling expression of whisky and wine in harmony.

Founded in 1825 as Glenforres and renamed Edradour in 1837, the distillery is celebrated for its small-scale production and distinctive Highland style. Since its acquisition in 2002 by Andrew Symington, founder of Signatory Vintage, Edradour has become a pioneer in innovative wine and fortified-wine cask maturation, revitalising its image while remaining firmly rooted in tradition. Under the guidance of former Laphroaig director Iain Henderson, the distillery also introduced the peated Ballechin range. From 2018, production expanded into a purpose-built replica distillery next door, preserving historic methods while supporting a forward-looking vision. Edradour remains a benchmark for characterful, artisanal Highland whisky.
