Founded in 1815 on the rugged southern coast of Islay, Ardbeg is celebrated for producing some of the peatiest single malts in Scotland. Its distinctive character historically came from the malt kiln’s limited ventilation, which locked in intense smoky flavours during the malting process. Alongside powerful peat smoke, Ardbeg whiskies often reveal notes of liquorice, tar and coastal minerality, combining rustic intensity with remarkable depth and sophistication.

Distilled in 1991 and matured for 23 years in a single hogshead, this rare expression was bottled by the renowned independent bottler Douglas Laing. Limited to just 114 bottles, it showcases Ardbeg’s unmistakable smoky identity while long ageing adds refinement, structure and complexity. A collector’s Islay malt, balancing dense peat, smoked barley and mature oak.
