Profile: the complex initial nose is toasted (toast), honeyed, apricoty and roasted (coffee). Allowed to breathe, it develops floral (lily) and spicy (cardamom) notes. The velvety attack is characterized by groundnut (peanut). The mid-palate is tertiary (lichen, mushroom). The rich finish is pastry-like (spice bread), malty and powdery (cocoa). Little by little, it becomes floral (honeysuckle) and apricoty. Exclusive to LMDW.
SPEYBURN 12 ans 2006 Single Cask Sherry The Chronicles
Founded in 1897, Speyburn was closed for a short period between 1930 and 1934. Equipped with drum maltings, the distillery’s malt house was closed in 1968. Since 2006, it has been owned by the Thai group Thai Beverages Plc. More recently, between 2014 and 2015, major expansion works were carried out to double its production capacity. Very original right from the start, this version offers beautiful notes of precious wood, taking us straight to a cabinetmaker’s workshop (varnish, wax). Its honeyed, spicy and floral registers are each dressed in tertiary tones that emphasize a maturity far exceedingly its relatively young age.
