Description
TASTING NOTE
Appearance : burnished gold with glints of topaz.
Nose : fine, subtle. On the initial nose, rye gently steps into a vanilla and fruity (Mirabelle plum) palette of aromas. It then develops notes of salted butter caramel, mint, heady florals (broom, peony) and walnut. Allowed to breathe, it becomes increasingly fruity with greengage plum and white currant as the highlight.
Palate : distinguished, elegant. Just like the initial nose, the rye immediately leaves its mark on the palette of flavours. Vanilla and candied chestnut then gradually appear. The mid-palate is filled with nuts (hazelnut, pecan nut, almond), black fruits (bramble) and a very original note of rhubarb.
Overall : long, well-balanced. Although spices were absent on the nose and palate, they arrive in force on the finish. They include ginger, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon and even paprika. Rye then gradually returns to power. On the retronasal olfaction, sweets (marshmallow) and coriander coexist in complete harmony. The empty glass literally oozes rye.
