Description
“Las Aguilas” is slightly sloped and hilly, going from 2,057 meters above sea level at its highest point to 2,035 meters altitude in its lowest point, 100 meters away from the river.
At the moment of harvesting, the agave had just reached 6 years of age, but being in soil that was practically new to this crop, the fertility level was very high and the plant grew fast and healthy. The average weight of the piñas was 35kgs (77 pounds) and the sugar content reached 30.5%.
A small percentage of the plants in this field were left to grow the quiote so it can flower and seed as a part of the Bat Friendly Program of which Tequila Ocho is part.
