NICARAGUA 2004 Gift Set 2 Glasses TCRL
Distilled on 1 December 2004, this version was aged first in a tropical climate until June 2015 and then for more than 2 years in a continental climate. It has a very complex nose, in which every aroma is put with rare precision in its rightful place. The palate is full of tonic energy, showing both wonderful depth and lots of breadth. The very juicy finish reveals an important aspect of the gustatory palette – the nobility of its wood. Each of these stages would stand out on their own – but together we witness a wonderful feat of teamwork.
Profile: the voluptuous initial nose is at once fruity (orange), cocoaed, apricoty and floral. It develops into sweet notes of crème brûlée and exotic fruit. The silky attack is particularly spicy. The mid-palate for its part is liquoricey and rooty (ginger). The very juicy finish offers delicious orange. It develops into spice bread and bourbon vanilla with notes of precious wood and toast at the end of the palate.
