MOSSTOWIE 40 ans 1979 125th Anniversary G&M

$3,500.00

In 1964, the Miltonduff distillery installed a pair of Lomond Still type stills in its facility from which it produced until 1981 a single malt called Mosstowie. This “ephemeral” single malt was not officially bottled. Only a few barrels here and there are still available, notably from Gordon & MacPhail and Signatory Vintage. A malt that is more than rare!

Distilled at Miltonduff, Mosstowie is one of the rarest distillates to be produced using Lomond Stills. These special stills have an adjustable swan neck, allowing them to produce different styles of whiskey. They were removed from the distillery in 1981, thereby ending production of the Mosstowie brand. Founded in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail is celebrating its 125th anniversary of serving whisky this year. On this occasion, the illustrious independent bottler delivers a part of history with four exceptional single casks, from closed and dismantled distilleries. After decades of waiting in the shelter of the warehouses, these barrels are the last representatives of these distilleries, honored one last time under the Gordon & MacPhail label.
