Martell is the oldest of the great cognac houses and a symbol of French refinement and the art of living. Founded by Englishman Jean Martell in 1715, Martell quickly contributed to the reputation of the Cognac region by exporting to the UK and Asia. In 1912, Martell created Cordon Bleu, probably the company’s most well-known reference, and established itself as a prestigious spirit. Martell cognac was then served on board the Queen Mary and Concorde. Since its acquisition by Pernod-Ricard in 2001, the brand has innovated and expanded its range with increasingly refined products such as Or de Jean Martell and Martell Chanteloup Perspective. In 2015, the company celebrated its 300th anniversary!

Method & Madness’ range of whiskeys – literally “method & madness” – is shaking up the status quo. In addition to its unique range consisting of a Single Malt, a Single Pot Still, and a Single Grain, the team has worked on several experiments. Located in the heart of the Midleton distillery, the micro-distillery is rooted in Irish tradition while being daringly curious and young in approach. This superb Single Cask, available in ultra-limited edition, is a Single Pot Still. Aged for 6 years in ex-bourbon barrels, it then continued its journey for 22 years in an exceptional barrel that previously contained Ruby Port. Despite all this time, this unique whiskey has retained an ultra-fruity character, oscillating between flavors of exotic and red fruits, advantageously sublimated by spicy, woody, and indulgent notes. Incredibly long, it is surely the best edition to date from Method & Madness.
