Description
TASTING NOTE
Appearance : colourless
Nose : refined, complex. On the first nose, juniper berry appears alongside clove and cumin. Citrus fruit (lime, orange zest) and coriander follow hot on their heels. Allowed to breathe, it becomes floral (rose, freesia, lavender) and praline. The bright aromatic palette is particularly expressive. It evokes the sandy beach of Luskentyre, lapped by the waves of an emerald sea.
Palate : lively yet creamy. The very maritime (seaweed) and salty attack also overflows with spices (pink peppercorn, cinnamon, star anise) and citrus fruit (grapefruit, orange). On the mid-palate, juniper berry flavours work very harmoniously with other more resinous flavours (pine, thuja). Gradually, exotic fruits (mango, persimmon) arrive on centre-stage. At the end of the palate, maritime notes return with a conquering spirit to occupy the centre of the palate.
Overall : long, balanced. At the start of the finish, citrus and exotic fruit rival spice and seaweed in intensity. Then, all of a sudden, fresh fruit (apricot, peach), red fruit (raspberry, strawberry) and black fruit (blueberry, blackcurrant) flow uninterrupted across the taste buds. On the retro-nasal olfaction, fine chocolate and liquorice notes (green liquorice) bring lots of sweetness and smoothness to the very end of the palate. With its spicy and fruity (lemon, orange) notes, the empty glass stays true to the first nose.
