Description
TASTING NOTE
Color: Bright gold
Nose: both airy and deeply rooted in the ground. Full, the first nose is malty, floral (lavender, vine flower), fruity (Williams pear, plum), root (gentian) and exotic (passion, pineapple). With aeration, it becomes very slightly medicinal and divinely honeyed (acacia). A very fine bitterness refers at times to a vegetal and iodized peat. Notes of straw, peppermint and raisins gradually rise to the surface of the aromatic palette.
Palate: rich, fleshy. Following on from the nose, the attack on the palate is liquorice (zan) and, to say the least, earthy. In the mid-palate, notes of almonds, vanilla, fresh walnuts and curry perfectly embody aging in bourbon casks. Minty, the aftertaste is also lemony and praline.
Overall: long, stout. Mixture of white flowers (lilac, lily of the valley), custard, poppy flower and yellow fruits, the start of the finish is of rare concentration. Tannic, the end of the mouth gives the floor to a rather dry vegetal peat which blends smoothly into the taste palette. In retro-olfaction, candied lemons, hyacinths and barley grains are placed on the bitumen. The empty glass is powdered (cocoa), medicinal (tiger balm) and larded.
