Description
Tasting Notes
Nose : Round, creamy. At first, a fine, licorice-tinged, oily peat pierces through notes of mirabelle plum jam, Williams pear, and very ripe mango. With aeration, the peat becomes more intense, deeper, and turns chocolaty. Meanwhile, the fruits give way to a more herbaceous register (lichen, walnut husk) with a slight hint of camphor.
Palate : Firm, powerful. Radically different from the nose, the palate starts with much drier (twigs) and almost ashy peat. The mid-palate reveals itself to be intensely malty. Gradually, the white fruits from the aromatic palette resurface, providing a pleasantly invigorating freshness at the finish.
Finish : Long, silky. Now, peat and malted barley coexist in perfect harmony. However, notes of ash and smoldering tobacco highlight the dominant phenolic character without overpowering the finish. At this precise moment, a very original note of cucumber settles on the taste buds. Remaining unchanged, the empty glass precisely restores the initial nose.
