Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : deep orangey copper.
Nose : refined, nuanced. Sublime aromas of beeswax, pepper and heather honey bring the first nose great class. Allowed to breathe, the aroma palette becomes apricoty, vanilla and milky (almond, walnut). Orange zest, heady florals (carnation, gillyflower) and roasted notes (black tea, coffee, tobacco) then highlight the magnificently rancio and extroverted character. Superb.
Palate : taut, lively. Giving its own take on the notes of tobacco and black tea found on the nose, the attack is also characterized by voluptuous and mellow flavours of bourbon vanilla, dried fruits (date, fig) and toffee. On the mid-palate, lime blossom honey appears alongside lavender honey, white peaches and candied apricot. At the end of the palate, plantain banana, mango and persimmon add a touch of intense exoticism to the flavour palette.
Finish : long, smooth. The wonderfully chocolate start of the finish beams with maturity and fullness. Malted barley grains sensitively coat the taste buds. The end of the finish is refreshed with delicious plant infusions (camomile, verbena, mint). Next, Lorraine Mirabelle plum, dessicated grape and juicy melon bring lots of smoothness and juice to the retro-nasal olfaction. The medicinal and camphoric empty glass emphasizes the strong character of this Glenlivet Artist.
