Appearance: copper with orange reflections.
Nose: rich, deep. On the first nose, a fine film of soot covers the aromatic palette. Then, it quickly becomes exotic (mango, guava), spicy (Cayenne), chocolatey, fruity (orange) and floral (purple lilac, geranium). Aeration creates a particularly elegant rancio: candied apricots, walnuts and cherries in brandy rub shoulders with aromatic plants (sage, verbena) and heather honey. Magnificent.
Palate: haughty, concentrated. Exotic (mango, lychee), the attack on the palate is nobly spicy (cardamom) and mineral (charcoal). Very different, the mid-palate is marked by flavors of both juicy and sweet white fruits (pear, mirabelle plum, Golden apple, peach). Deliciously honeyed (acacia) and milky (coconut, almond), the aftertaste is a treat (stupidity of Cambrai, liquorice candy).
Overall: long, silky. Gourmet, the start of the finish invites us to savor scented quince jelly with rose petals. This superb introduction brings an oriental touch to the taste palette. The elegant finish reveals flavors of citrus (mandarin, orange), violet candy and black liquorice. Slightly saline, the retro-olfaction is herbaceous (pipe tobacco) and tertiary (fig, date). Very dense, the empty glass is at the same time heady (iris), peppery, spicy, powdery (cocoa) and malty.
