TASTING NOTES

Appearance :
Orangey copper.

Nose : Delicate and concentrated. Fruits (kumquat, apricot, cherries in brandy, orange) enshrouded in a very subtle wisp of smoke precede notes of absinthe and gentian. Allowed to breathe, spices (pepper, cinnamon) and polish (Russian leather, varnish, precious wood) are refreshed with mint notes. The incredibly complex aroma palette gradually reveals red and black fruits (redcurrant, blackcurrant), chocolate, salted butter caramel and incense. Exceptional!

Palate : Noble, full of life. With incredible freshness, the attack invites us to taste nectarines, melons, mangos, oranges, ripe bananas, walnuts, apricots and apricot stones, cherries, bergamot oranges, pressed lemons, mandarins and more… Also deliciously vanilla, it lingers on flavours of aromatic plants (sage, camomile, rosemary). Instead of disrupting the aroma palette’s fruity character, this transition instead transcends it. Remarkable.

Overall : Long, concentrated. Iris butter, candied ginger, gentian root, eucalyptus leaves and toffee bring lots of smoothness and sensuality to the start of the finish. The end of the finish takes on wonderfully bright medicinal (ointment, mustard seed) and nobly spicy (saffron, cardamom) tones. On the retro-nasal olfaction, orange zest, dried apricot, toffee and malted barley grain prove the palette of aromas and flavours hasn’t aged a bit. The empty glass is intensely malty (porridge), delicately woody, rooty (ginseng, gentian) and floral (honeysuckle, hyacinth).
