The 10-year journey was long and intense! After the 2013 edition (barrels aged 3 to 5 years) then the 2015 edition (barrels aged 5 to 7 years) and finally the assembly of barrels aged 7 to 10 years, the On the Way series (on the way to 10 years!) has come to an end. Make way for the long-awaited 10 years of Chichibu: The First Ten. An assembly of around 26 barrels that have all aged for over 10 years. Mainly in first-fill bourbon barrels but also in Mizunara barrels, sherry barrels and so on. A small portion of peated whisky brings complexity to the assembly that is found in the tasting. A honeyed sweetness complements the rich fruity notes. The mouth is refreshing with fresh green fruits, completed by a light peat that gives a beautiful depth. The finish is long and intense.
