Overlooking both Cheval Blanc and Pétrus, this is a beautifully located, family owned château that produces outstanding, affordable claret. It is one of the oldest properties in Montagne which in itself is the smallest appellation in the Bordeaux region with only 18 growers. Dating back to the 16th Century the property has 23ha of vines that surround the Château. Jacques Rambaud took over from his father in 2005.
The vineyards enjoy a temperate oceanic climate, while lying in a gravelly type soilbed mixed with clay & limestone. Vines are 35 years old, and after 18 months in oak (40% new), the final wine is rich, opulent and full of life.
