Profile: the distinguished initial nose offers an ethereal and lemon smoke. It is also vanilla and herbaceous. The creamy attack reveals a hint of smoke and some ash before becoming heady (broom), spicy (clove) and mentholated. The elegant finish is sooty, saline and mineral (slate). The retronasal olfaction stages a more pronounced and chocolate peat.
CAOL ILA 7 ans 2010 The Chronicles
In our 2018 Creation catalogue, we selected from the Single Malt of Scotland collection a remarkable 18-year-old Glenburgie which inspired a wave of enthusiasm. This year, we invite you to leave Speyside to visit Port Askaig on the Isle of Islay to taste a just as impressive Caol Ila. At once harmonious, complex, dense and deep, it reveals a palette of flavours and aromas in which each element arrives at just the right moment. It also invites us to explore craggy reliefs where smoke and peat play a leading role.
