Considering each blend as a work of art, Compass Box has drawn inspiration from Renaissance frames for this new limited edition. This frame, containing clues about the life and accomplishments of the person whose portrait it features, incorporates elements related to the making of Scotch whisky (barley, still, cask…). Inside, we find an extremely rich and intense whisky, thanks to the blending of single malts matured in orange wine casks for three years. These unusual casks, refined with “vino naranja” from southern Spain, bring great delicacy, rich chocolatey notes, and jammy aromas. The other single malts in the blend, aged in American oak casks, reveal generous notes of custard, honey, and frangipane. This creation is not a sober watercolor but rather a decadent work of art painted with oil paint.
