Bowmore 1968 Cask #3827 was distilled in October 1968 and bottled in October 2006.

Bowmore is a distillery located in the town of the same name on the coast of Loch Indaal, and it was founded in 1779. It is the oldest distillery on the Isle of Islay. The distillery is known for its slightly peated bottlings and for its special finishing casks, which have earned it many accolades. Bowmore still operates today with a respect for tradition, with some of its barley being partially malted on site.

Description

Tasting Notes


Nose : A mix of pepper, caramel, butter, apricot, and tart fruit. It also reveals specific notes of cedar and oak shavings. Touch of varnish. On aeration, the scent of flowers can be guessed.

Palate : graceful. Exuberant with mint, beeswax. Encaustics. It reveals specific notes of flowers, rose. It quickly evolves to zest and butter. The rose makes a strong return. It is omnipresent on the entire palate.

Finish : endless with mint, butter, milky hazelnut. Return to floral aromas.
