Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Old gold with coppery reflections.
Nose : Rich, powerful. Notes of black licorice, charred wood, and tiger balm provide a lot of character to the initial nose. Upon aeration, fragrances of heady flowers (iris, lily), malted barley, and wood varnish add a smoky dimension to the aromatic palette.
Palate : Lively, slender. Thunderous, the palate entry reveals surprisingly pure notes of white fruits (pear, mirabelle). In the mid-palate, fine skin tannins (botrytized grapes) envelop the palate. Then, the finish returns to malt territory.
Finish : Long, velvety. Cocoa-infused, the finish offers the enjoyment of various pastries: gingerbread, fruitcake, coffee mocha. Pleasantly malty, the aftertaste is herbaceous (lime blossom, bay leaf) and spicy (Cayenne). The end of the palate is imbued with tangy notes (grapefruit, lemon).
