Description
TASTING NOTE
Appearance : burnished gold with copper tinges.
Nose : refined, lively. On the first nose, delicious notes of fresh fruits (Mirabelle plum, pear), apple jelly and iris butter appear alongside crushed almonds, star anise and liquorice stick. Allowed to breathe, it becomes increasingly heady (lavender, broom, gillyflower) and exotic (mango, lychee, kiwi), while ginger brings lots of texture to an increasingly vanilla, milky (coconut) and tangy (orange zest) aroma palette.
Palate : clean, precise. Continuing on perfectly from the nose, the attack is oriental (pistachio, Turkish delight, rose petal). At this point, we are presented with a striking picture of San Franciscos famous rye whiskey, Old Potrero. On the mid-palate, flavours of apricot stone, fig and dried date rival divinely heady tones (peony, purple lilac). At the end of the palate, noble spices (cardamom, cinnamon, ginger) gently envelop the taste buds.
Overall : long, silky. Characterized by roasted notes (coffee, tobacco), the start of the finish is also delicately chocolatey and caramelized. Stewed fruits (raspberry, peach, Napoléon cherry) then bring the end of the finish lots of freshness and richness. On the retro-nasal olfaction, orange blossom and acacia honey delicately fragrance the air. The empyreumatic empty glass (royal jelly, beeswax, pistil) is spicy (cinnamon), fruity (white grape, apricot, almond) and praline.
