Profile: the deep initial nose wavers between spices (pepper), camphor, chilli and heady florals (geranium). Allowed to breathe, it becomes vegetal (sugarcane) and tertiary (mushroom). The lively attack is characterized by notes of pipe tobacco, gillyflower and spice (curry). The more unctuous mid-palate is milky (coconut), honeyed (bay leaf) and syrupy (cane sugar). The long finish is oriental (Turkish delight) and apricoty. Ginger gradually coats the sides of the mouth. Exclusive to LMDW.
BARBADOS 2005 SB TCRL
A blend of pot still distilled rums and column still distilled rums, this small batch was first aged in a tropical climate in ex-bourbon casks for eleven years. It then continued its maturation in ex-rum casks in a continental climate for two years. Combining exuberance and rigour, right from the start this version takes us by the taste buds to discover every corner of the very complex palette of flavours and aromas right through to the particularly eloquent empty glass.
