Profile: the delicate initial nose is floral (rose), liquorice and exotic (mango). Allowed to breathe, it becomes spicy (ginger), elegantly woody (beeswax) and chocolatey. The concentrated attack is unctuous and powdery (cocoa). The very floral (tuberose) mid-palate is also spicy (star anise). The assertive finish is fruity and floral. Quince jelly and notes of forest floor (dead leaves) gradually cover the taste buds. Exclusive to LMDW.
BALLY 17 ans 2000 Brut de Fut The Chronicles
Located in Le Carbet, in west Martinique, this distillery was bought in 1917 by Jacques Bally. It ceased production in 1974. Today, this rum is produced at the Saint James distillery. The very talkative aromatic palette of this 2000 vintage is also particularly complex and deep. Its very dense flavour palette highlights a spicy character, whose power is rivalled only by its nobility. Finally, in the grand finale, a finish characterized by precious wood gives it a truly elegant poetic dimension.
