ASYLA C.Box

$110.00

This whisky is a blend of three Speyside single malts (Linkwood, Glen Elgin and Cragganmore) and two grain whiskies from the Cambus distillery (closed in 1993) and Cameronbridge. It was one of John Glaser’s first creations. The name, ‘Asyla’, from asylum, means an inviolable refuge, a place of peace and serenity, but also somewhere where lunatics are ‘gathered’. A place where both madness and extreme difference can be expressed. In other words, a highly appropriate name for a fine whisky!

Appearance : pale yellow with hints of green.

Nose: Refined, precise. Malted barley, cut hay and citrus fruit (oranges), all the sweet smells of Speyside! If to that one adds sweet spices (cinnamon, ginger), the bucolic landscape traversed by the meanders of the Spey begins to appear.

Palate: balanced, mentholated. Ripe fruit. Green almonds.

Finish: Long, soft. Spices and exotic fruit.
