Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Deep golden yellow.
Nose : Fresh yet heady. The first nose is characterised by notes of malted barley, lavender honey and candied ginger, and also delicately woody and exotic (banana, pineapple, passion fruit). Allowed to breathe, heady florals (iris, rose poivrée) and candied fruits (pear, apple) are coated in wax and acacia honey. With time, stronger spices (clove, cane, nutmeg) enter the stage.
Palate : Full-bodied, subtle. The attack unfolds with a very beautiful malty bitterness that is quickly refreshed by aromatic plants (camomile, verbena). On the mid-palate, Mirabelle plum and pineapple reinforce the nose’s fruity character. The rich end of the palate is vanilla and chocolatey. This second stage of the tasting culminates in flavours of malted barley and rice pudding.
Finish : long, refined. The very slightly lemon start of the finish gradually becomes floral (bloom, mimosa), pastry-like (pound cake) and mentholated. The juicy end of the finish is like biting into whole bunches of white grapes, while the retro-nasal olfaction is gently caramelised. The empty glass places a basket of dried flowers on both the aroma and the flavour palette.
