Ardbog is a limited edition released on the occasion of Ardbeg Day 2013. This special cuvée was created to highlight the peat bogs of the native island of Islay and celebrate their essential role in whisky production. Ardbog was aged for ten years in Spanish Manzanilla sherry casks and then combined with traditional Ardbeg of the same age, matured in American oak barrels that were previously used for bourbon. The Manzanilla imparts maritime aromas to the whisky, while the bourbon cask balances it with creamy maple syrup notes.
