Description
Tasting Notes
Colour : Deep orange copper.
Nose : Expansive, deep. From black fruits (grape, prune, blackcurrant) to heady flowers (peonies, carnations), the first nose is also smoky (burnt wood, rubber), meaty (bacon), and ashy (soot). With aeration, it becomes more powdery (cocoa bean, crushed almond) and spicy (candied ginger). Then a new fruity sequence emerges (raspberry, strawberry). In the background, enchanting scents of flambéed banana, candied lime, and black licorice create an olfactory tableau of rare concentration.
Palate : Balanced, dense. Very smoky (bacon), the mouthfeel is also indulgent (warm biscuit, crème brûlée). Long and slender, the mid-palate is intensely malty, meaty (bresaola), and honeyed (lime blossom, heather). Gradually, walnut must notes shrink the taste buds while mustard seeds provide a delicately medicinal touch to the whole. The finish is candied (clementine, orange) and herbaceous (mint, sage).
Finish : Long, elegant. The beginning of the finish prolongs the fruity and herbaceous sensations of the palate for a long time. With time, these sensations break down to give way to flavors of precious wood, curry, and cardamom of great expressiveness. With its notes of cotton candy and vanilla ice cream, the retro-olfaction is nothing less than pure indulgence. The empty glass, meanwhile, is smoky (black licorice, tar, Armenian paper).
