Hellyers Road was founded in 1997 on the lush island of Tasmania. The distillery owes its existence to the shared passion for whisky between the owner of a dairy cooperative and a professional distiller. Together they decided to create a new malt, which is malted! The distillery’s name pays tribute to its very first explorer, Henry Hellyer, who was the first European to set foot on these wild lands. From this man’s determination came the very first road built through the bush – the same one that currently connects the distillery. Without a doubt, the exceptional whiskies of Hellyers Road have inherited the perseverance of its first pioneer! Distilled for the first time in 1999, the whisky owes its character to a perfect mastery of maturation in barrels.

Located in the north of Tasmania, more precisely in the city of Burnie, the Hellyers Road distillery has been producing a single malt from local barley since 1999 and practices a slow reduction with the purest spring water in the world. This magnificent 12-year-old and non-chill filtered single malt exudes a calming sweetness, reflecting its long stay in American oak. The nose detects vanilla and citrus, typical notes of Hellyers Road whiskies, while the palate is seduced by an oily sweetness with aromas of exotic fruits, brioche bread, and ginger notes. This precious edition is presented in a beautiful canister.
